2013 Santa Parade Line-up Information
Line-up for the parade will begin at 4:00pm sharp. All participants should be in place no later than 4:25pm. Entrance for floats and vehicles will be from the Lambs Road entrance of the church lot only. The church parking lot will be open only to vehicles that have been registered to be in the parade. If your group is traveling by bus or is using a trailer to carry equipment, you will be permitted to drive those vehicles into the lot and straight back to the gravel/grass parking area at the southwest rear corner of the paved lot. Those vehicles will then be required to stay in that gravel lot until all participants have left the paved lot at the 5pm start time. Once all participants have left, those vehicles can proceed to Commerce Avenue (along railroad) between East Holly and Pitman Avenues (near Pitman Fire Co #1) to meet their groups after the parade. We recommend those vehicles follow Lambs Road east to Woodbury-Glassboro Road south to Holly Avenue west to Commerce Avenue just before the railroad.
If your group requires participants to be dropped off at the church to line-up, please be sure to have all parents, etc. drop off participants on North Broadway along the open field no later than 4:25pm. North Broadway will be closed to all non-parade traffic at 4:30pm sharp. If you have younger children in your group that may need some direction to their line-up position, please try to have a representative at the drop off area to guide them. Parents and guardians will not be permitted to park along North Broadway while they walk their children to their line-up positions.
The parade will end at Ballard Avenue and Broadway. Those walking in the parade will be permitted to turn onto Ballard Avenue and should move to the side of the roadway immediately and keep moving forward to allow others to follow behind them. Groups meeting their transportation on Commerce Avenue can follow Ballard to Pitman Avenue, turning right on Pitman and the left on Commerce Avenue. Parade volunteers will be in the area to guide participants. Parade vehicles/floats carrying participants that wish to leave the vehicle to remain in Ballard Park, will be permitted to turn onto Ballard Avenue and are asked to proceed all the way to Pitman Avenue before unloading. All other parade vehicles will be directed straight on Broadway at Ballard and can turn right on Laurel Avenue or continue south on Broadway. No vehicles, except the vehicle carrying Santa, will be permitted to turn and remain mid-block on Ballard Avenue.
Please follow the direction of the volunteers and police officers that will be at the church to line-up the parade and along the route to keep the parade moving. Failure to do so may lead to immediate removal from the parade or prevent your group from participating in the future. We are looking forward to having a great event to kick off the start of the holiday season. If we should have bad weather, any cancellation information will be posted here by 2:00pm or as soon as practical. Our rain date is Monday, December 2nd at 7:00pm (line-up starting at 6:00pm).
